Summer Skates

On behalf of the Alvinston Flyers, we would like to extend an invitation to attend our summer skates beginning July 7th at 7:30 pm. These skates will consist of 7 sessions, each an hour and a half long, with approximately 45 minutes spent on drills and the other 45 minutes for scrimmaging. This is a good opportunity to stay on the ice for the summer; as well as to familiarize yourself to the pace and drills of the Alvinston Flyers.

We will be taking the first 40 skaters, goaltenders need to contact Ted due to the limited space available. If you are interested in attending the summer skates, please return the recruit information page on-line (alvinstonflyers.ca) and mail a permission to skate form, along with a cheque for $100 payable to Alvinston Flyers to:

No players will be allowed on the ice without a “permission to skate” form.

Beginning late August, our main camp will open, thus signaling the start of the 2014-2015 hockey season. It is imperative that players come into camp in top shape, as the time frame from the opening of main camp, to the beginning of the regular season is roughly 3 weeks. We will be looking for approximately 12 players. Along with great hockey skill and speed, the coaching staff will be looking for players with a deep commitment to the team and the desire to compete every night.

The Alvinston Flyers and Jr C hockey in general have often been considered a development system for Jr B players. If your goal is to play Jr B at some point consider this; the Alvinston Flyers have a great working affiliation relationship with two Jr B teams namely the Strathroy Rockets and the Lambton Shores Predators. Any Lambton County player signing with the Flyers can affiliate to either of the two teams. In addition to this any Lambton County player can also sign on to the Strathroy Rockets Roster as a non-import if he is currently rostered with the Flyers or was the previous season. In short this increases your options of playing Jr B as you will then have 3 teams that you are eligible to play for as a non-import.

The following is the schedule for our summer skates which will be held in Strathroy at the Gemini Sportsplex.

Monday July 7th – 7:30-9:00pm                                   Monday August 11th – 7:30-9:00pm

Monday July 14th – 7:30-9:00pm                                                Monday August 18th – 7:15-8:45pm

Monday July 21st – 7:30-9:00pm                               Monday August 25th – 7:15-8:45pm

Monday July 28th – 7:30-9:00pm

See you at the rink.
